Holy Crap! This book was amazing! I loved this sexy rock star/skater girl read. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I can’t recommend it enough.

Rhett and Korie were a perfect mesh of combustible and fun. I also loved the secondary characters and would love to see these characters get their own books. This was just one of those books I didn’t want to leave their world and won’t forget anytime soon.

Review: All About The D by Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam

All About the DTitle: All About the D
Author: Lex Martin
Published: May 2, 2017
Series: Book 1
Genre: Romantic Comedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Temptation has never come in a hotter package.

You know how people say you can never believe what you read on the interwebs? That a hot guy online is probably a creeper with a beer gut and a shoe fetish, not the sexy beast he pretends to be?

So I had no clue that the anonymous blogger who contacted my law firm about his naughty website would be droolworthy in real life. Not that I’m interested in him in that way.

Attorneys can’t go around sleeping with their clients. Not even if he is the most beautiful man I’ve ever met and so ridiculously smart he makes my nerdy-girl heart sigh.

Besides, he has too much on the line to risk taking a chance on the insane chemistry building between us. We both do.

I’ve always followed the rules. Too bad he makes me want to break each and every one of them.

All About the D is a romantic comedy and a full-length standalone. Due to adult situations and sexual content, it’s recommended for readers over the age of 18.

All About the D is a hilarious book about finding love in the strangest of ways and why you shouldn’t make a bet with your scandalous best friend. Definitely a 5 Star read!

Speaking of said best friend, I was not a fan of Drew. In fact, I kinda wish Josh would have either staged an intervention or kicked him to the curb. And because I totally read these out of order, I know he does redeem himself in his book (Surprise, Baby!) and made me completely fall in love with him. But enough about Drew, this is Evie and Josh’s story and I was completely enamored with them!

There were parts that were laugh out loud funny, sexy times that made me need a cold shower and I couldn’t get enough of the banter between the two of them! Then there were parts that broke my heart. This story had it all. A whole roller-coaster of emotion. I loved every minute of getting to know these amazing characters and I can’t wait to see what these ladies have in store for us in the future.

Oh the angst! This story played out perfectly, like a masterpiece slowly building until you finally reach the crescendo. Dove and Kingston were perfection. And the Brothers of Kiznitch…sigh…

This book was not only mysterious, it was sexy as hell and left me speechless! In the world of Mayhem, what choice do you have but to submit. This author never fails to deliver on the strong heroines. Dove is no different. She has darkness beneath her beauty, but this girl is a fighter.

If you think you’re ready for this, think again. With characters you’ll fall in love with, twists that leave your mind spinning, and a phenomenal story-line, In Peace Lies Havoc is a book you don’t want to miss!

synopsis-lips copy

My name is Dove Hendry.
Mine is Kingston Axton.
I was captured by darkness.
She has always been ours…
They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control.
She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn’t know it yet…
But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.
A culture that she is about to become the center of.
The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.
Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason…
Mind-tricks.
Stunts.
Deceit.
Power.
But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.
And maybe lived under your bed…
When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.
His whispers were silenced.
His shadow dissolving without a trace.
I wondered why that was.
She didn’t have to wonder for long…

REVIEW: Surprise, Baby by Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam

Surprise, Baby!Title: Surprise, Baby!
Authors: Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam
Publication: March 12, 2019
Genre: Romantic Comedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t think I could have loved Drew and Kendall more than I do right at this moment. This was the first book I’ve read by this duo and the only thing I didn’t like about this book was that it ended.

This was a perfect enemies to lovers read. It had some seriously hilarious moments that had me laughing out loud and I may have even shed a tear or two when shiz went down. And let me say, the narrators were the perfect voices for these characters.

I will be reading a lot more from these authors in the very near future.

synopsis-lips copy

There’s a fine line between lust and hate.

I don’t care that Drew Merritt spent the last year transforming himself from grungy slob to sexy playboy. With messy, dirty blond hair and gorgeous eyes, his looks aren’t the problem.

His mouth is.

And the stupid things that come out of it.

But after an emergency strands us together, and he does his damnedest to take care of me…

Let’s just say there’s one thing we don’t clash on.

And it doesn’t involve talking.

I’ve despised Drew since I met him years ago. One weekend can’t change us that much, can it?

Spoiler alert: It doesn’t.

Except he left me a little keepsake.

And in nine months, I’ll have a surprise for Portland’s most notorious player.

Review: Fireworks by Sabrina Bowen

Fireworks (True North, #6)Title: Fireworks
Author: Sarina Bowen
Published: November 13, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This audiobook was amazing! I’m going to be honest here. This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this Author. The first book was actually the first book in this series and I DNFed it for one reason or another. And honestly, I was skeptical about this one, but what made me 1-click it (because I so did) was that the blurb grabbed me but the narrators (both of them!) are my favorites! So yep, I snatched this up like a $2 whore. I am so glad I did.

Ben and Skye were so perfect for each other. Both kids from the wrong side of the tracks, but where Benito was loved, Skye was envied, therefore bullied making her already stressful life more so. Emotions run high as a teenager and misunderstandings are abundant. One unforgettable night, Skye had enough and left without a word. 12 years later she’s back and has to face not only the mean girls but also the one that got away.

All I can say is get this book!!!

synopsis-lips copy

Skye Copeland is on paid leave from her broadcasting job after accidentally drawing a pecker on the traffic map.

Let that sink in. Like it’s her fault the traffic pattern that day created a perfect schlong?

Skye isn’t laughing. She needs this job. And that’s the only reason she’s agreed to chase down a story in her least favorite place—that hell on earth known as Vermont.

A quick trip. In and out. Much like – never mind. Skye can sneak into the town that once tried to break her, get the story and get back into the good graces of her producer. Easy peasy.

Except things go sideways even as she sets foot over the county line. Her step-sister is on the run from a violent drug dealer. And the cop on the case is none other than Benito Rossi, the man who broke her teenage heart.

His dark brown eyes still tear her apart. And even as she steels herself to finally tell him off after twelve years, the old fireworks are still there.

Things are about to go boom.

Review: BROKEN KNIGHT by L.J. Shen

Broken Knight (All Saints High, #2)

Title: Broken Knight
Author: L.J. Shen
Publication Date: August 18, 2019
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t know what to say about this book. I am at a loss for words at how this book, with all its pretty words, affected my life. My soul, really. So, here I am, laying it all out.

This book will forever go down as one of the very few books that I will NEVER forget. This book is right below Making Faces by Amy Harmon for me, which I read years ago and still cry about. It left beautiful scars that I will look back on and remember every emotion these characters brought out in me. There are several issues addressed in this book, and every single one of them was written with truth and grace. How this author can layer these characters to a point that you forget they are not real people is beyond me.

Ms. Shen didn’t simply write a book. She poured her heart and soul out on these pages. And it shows. As I sit here writing my review for this heartbreakingly amazing book, I have tears streaming down my face. Tears that cry for everything this book is. The loyal friends, the utter devastation heartbreak brings and the cherished childhood memories that will never be forgotten while making new ones. Ride or Die.

To be honest, I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I do or for it to affect me as much as it has. This book gave me allllll the feels! One of the best books I’ve read this year. All of L.J.’s characters are phenomenal, but these two hold a special place in my heart.

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending.

Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower.

Sweet.
Caring.
Charitable.
Quiet.
Fake.
Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language.
Who taught her how to laugh.
To live.
To love.
Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero.
Gorgeous.
Athletic.
Rugged.
Popular.
Liar.

This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna.

But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore.
When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes.

Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy.

Review: Bombshell by CD Reiss

Bombshell (Hollywood A-List, #1)Title: Bombshell
Author: C.D. Reiss
Publication: May 1, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another 5 Star Read by CD Reiss! This book gave me all the feels. It was heartwarming and real. I love how Ms. Reiss can write her characters so well that I am emotionally vested in every aspect of what is them.

Brad Sinclair is living the busy life of an A-list actor. He’s hot on and off the screen and to his surprise, he’s also a father. When Nicole’s mother suddenly dies in a car accident, social services comes knocking and drops his five year old daughter off on his doorstep. He has no idea what to do with this spunky five year old and immediately makes the call for a nanny.

This little girl stole my heart. Nicole was sweet and funny and I just couldn’t get enough. She’s also a little messy.

Cara is called in as the new nanny for Hollywood A-lister Brad Sinclair. She’s professional and has no time for nonsense. But she can’t help falling for this little bombshell. I loved that her and Nicole bonded so fast. And when things heat up between Brad and Cara, this entitled playboy is willing to change his ways to have both his girls in his life. She just hopes their relationship won’t crash and burn in the tabloids.

From New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss, a standalone romance about a nanny, a Hollywood star, and a love they never expected.

Hollywood bad boy Brad Sinclair always gets his way, whether it’s the role he wants or the bikini-clad model he has to have. But when a bombshell gets dropped in his lap in the form of a dimpled five-year-old from a forgotten relationship, he knows his life is about to change forever.

Cara DuMont isn’t exactly thrilled when she gets assigned to be the nanny for the latest box-office king. She has one rule: no celebrity fathers, especially single ones with devilish good looks and rock-hard abs.

But as soon as Cara meets Brad and his adorable little girl, she knows she’s in for a world of trouble. Because there’s something about the way Brad looks at her that makes her believe that some rules are meant to be broken…

Review: Risky Play by Rachel Van Dyken

Risky Play (Red Card, #1)Title: Risky Play
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Publication: March 19, 2019
Genre: Sports Romance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This author is a 1-click for me. Every single book is enthralling.

Mackenzie DuPont and Slade Rodriguez had amazing chemistry, even if Slade was doing everything to push her away. I get it, kind of. He was hurting before he met her, then started falling for her, because let’s face it, Mack is ah-mah-zing. Then when tragedy strikes, he blames her because he needs to place blame somewhere.

Poor Mack. Mackenzie didn’t plan on meeting this amazing while on her way to her honeymoon destination alone after being left at the alter. One fake name and several adventures later, she was heartbroken for a second time when the amazing man she was getting to know disappeared without a word. Taking what was left of her heart and her virginity with him.

Slade needed to get away and in the process started falling for the innocent woman who made him feel alive again after a public scandal rocked his world.

“I realized I would do anything to make this stranger smile at me like that again. One. Day. In.”

But one bad phone call and he took off without a backward glance siting she was to blame. Color them both surprised when she becomes his new assistant!

I can’t get enough of these characters. There were a couple of times I gasped thinking I had figured it all out only to be completely surprised by the events unfolding. And others that had me giggling like a fifteen year old boy.

“Damn, you need a keeper.”
“Just sent the flowers, alright?”
“And the note? What should that say, ‘Please don’t press charges, my dick knows not what it does?'”

This book was sweet and full of emotion. These two characters couldn’t be better matched, only if they would both forgive and forget. If something is worth having, it’s worth fighting for. I can’t wait for the next book in this engrossing series!

“Name one thing you would have done differently.”
“One thing,”
“Just one.”
“I already did it-I kissed you. And then I jumped.”

Review: Lies by Kylie Scott

LiesTitle: Lies
Author: Kylie Scott
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Publication date: July 21, 2019
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book wrecked me. And I freaking loved every. Single. Second of it. Days after reading this book and I still can’t put into words what I feel. I absolutely loved it, I can definitely tell you that! It’s been a while since I was completely consumed by a book. Lies not only consumed me, it left me with one hell of a book hangover.

I was so intrigued with this story-line. I can say, I don’t think I’ve personally read anything like it. It was witty, action packed and sexy as all hell. Poor Betty. This girl was batting zero on the amazing boyfriend front and I think she just gave up and decided to settle. Thom was safe and nice and safe, did I mention safe. They led somewhat boring lives but it was okay since she had someone to come home to every night, right? Until she wakes the heck up and realizes that sometimes it’s better to be alone than with someone and lonely. The day that Betty decides to leave her fiance is the day her life as she knows it changes.

Exploding condos, lies and spies oh my! Thom is in deep shiz with Betty now. I loved that there was a natural progression to this book. Thom mess up and did it epicly. Betty is not forgiving him anytime soon and he has to prove to her, even with them running for their lives, that she was not just a cover for him. He genuinely loves her and wants to win her back. This book was full of hilarity, action and tears. So many tears.

I highly recommend you get this book right now!

REVIEW: Doyenne by Anne Malcom

doyenne.Title: doyenne
Author: Anne Malcom
Series: Standalone
Published: June 25, 2019
Genre: Dark Romance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

HOLY WOW! This 5 STAR read was raw beauty.

Nothing about this book is a typical romance. It’s gritty, dark and full of cold characters. Characters that learn love isn’t always warm, nor is it a choice we make. Charlotte was a hard character to like, let alone love. She was a cold, ruthless business woman. Well respected, yes, but not well liked. She is emotionally detached and as this shrewd business woman soon finds out, she said no to the wrong person.

Jacob is a shell of the man he used to be. War tends to take pieces of your soul that you can never get back. He is in the right place at the right time and saves the girl. But soon figures out, she’s no damsel and this girl can save herself.

There is so much in this book that I loved. The suspense was phenomenal and the devastating loss just about broke me. I thought it was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. And though emotions are kept on lock down, there is this spark of chemistry that I was just waiting to combust in the bedroom. And it was well worth the wait!

These characters are far from perfect, but so perfect for each other. I love that every book I read by this author is better than the last. She is so expressive in her art, always making sure the visuals are magnificent and oh so real.

Don’t go looking for the typical happily ever after here. That’s one of the things I love about this book. She keeps it realistic. They may not have the typical HEA you’re looking for, but it’s their HEA. The only one that’s right for them.
